Exploration

This weekend was our first at home all together in quite a while. Since it also happened to be gorgeous outside, we spent a fair amount of time exploring the neighborhood. The last time we were really out and about for extended periods of time, Ada was completely immobile. Letting her run free at the Tot Lot was just so much fun! (Of course, we were too busy having a good time and didn’t take pictures of that.)

Though Sunday hit us with a sky full of clouds, we headed off again to visit Como. Spring flowers were in full bloom at the conservatory.

The Palm Dome is Steve’s favorite spot on the grounds, so we always make a special stop there. On Sunday, Ada was particularly captivated by the central fountain and another little girl who was splashing in it. Thankfully for us, Ada is still too small to reach in and cause trouble. She just stands excitedly at the edge.

The monkeys were the favorite this time around. For both Steve and Ada. What’s not to love about crazy little creatures with LONG tails that jump and swing around feverishly?

After a quick afternoon nap, we headed back out for more playground time which involved swinging and exploring tunnels and “running” through the park. Ada is finally getting the hang of moving with her shoes on – a tricky transition for a kid who has explored the world entirely barefooted until now.

Supper and a dance party and a bath rounded out the night.

Then Ada peed all over the bed.

The end.
